How did I create the guitar solo?

A breakdown of how the guitar solo for “Delulu” was developed in Logic Pro using MIDI as a songwriting and production tool. The process explores a distorted guitar sound, pitch bends to imitate expressive guitar techniques, and layered harmony/counter-melody lines to build melodic interest and emotional tension toward the song’s climax, before the ideas are developed into the final live-instrument recording.

The process documents identifying tension and insufficient breath intake, then adjusting technique to achieve a more open, resonant and controlled vocal tone while maintaining the emotional delivery of the lyrics.

An exploration of recording the Verse 2 vocals for “Delulu”, focusing on the melodic and dynamic evolution of the performance. The verse develops from a conversational delivery with shorter notes into longer, more legato and powerful phrases across a wider vocal range. Multiple takes and isolated re-recordings were used to improve breath support, pitch accuracy and control during the sustained higher notes at the climax of the verse.

An exploration of recording the chorus vocals for “Delulu”, focusing on transitioning from an overly chest-dominant approach into a more balanced mixed voice. Through multiple takes, I experimented with blending chest and head voice, consistent airflow and breath support to improve pitch accuracy, resonance and ease in the higher register while maintaining the power and emotion of the chorus
